Suara Indonesia Dance Group offers performances in many styles of Indonesian traditional and contemporary
choreography from across the archipelago...

ACEH
Suara Indonesia Dance Group specialises in body percussion dances from Aceh including;
Ratoh Duek, Likok Pulo, Rateb Meseukat, Ratoh Bantai, Seudati, Tari Pukat and Tari Ranup Lampuan, and new to our repertoire; Rapai Geleng using the rapai frame drum.

WEST SUMATRA
Dances from West Sumatra including; Tari Payung, Tari Piring, Pencak silat and a form of traditional theatre, Randai (using big pants to create percussion as in photo).

We also do Dances from other parts of Sumatra including; Tari Melayu, Tari Zapin and Serampang dua-belas.

TOPENG - HIP HOP-POPPING
These dances are a reflection of new choreography with elements of traditional movements drawn from Tari Topeng (mask dance).

JAVA
Dances from Surakarta, Yogyakarta and East Java including; Tari Gambyong, Tari Yapong, Tari Banyumasan, Tari Topeng, Tari Beskalen.

WEST JAVA
Dances from the Sunda culture of West Java including; Tari Bajidor Kahot, Kembang Tanjung, Jaipongan and Topeng Indramayu, Cirebon.

JAKARTA
Dances from the Betawi culture of Jakarta including; Kang Aji, Tari Ronggeng Blantek.

BALI
Dances from the beautiful island of Bali including; Tari Pendet, Panji Semirang, Legong and Puspanjali.
